Now a few words about my family. My family is large. My parents have two more children besides me. My elder sister Helen is almost 25. She is married and has a family of her own. Helen is a doctor. She really takes pride in her profession because to help and to treat people is noble. Her husband is a scientist. They’ve got twins: a daughter and a son. My niece and nephew go to a nursery school.
My younger brother is 16. Andrew is in his final year at school. Choosing a career is no problem for him. He has always wanted to follow his father’s example. He is interested in computers. He is tall and strong for his age. Andrew is a good mixer. He has a lot of friends. They are kind, clever, jolly well-bred and sociable too.
My parents are not old at all. My father is 46. He is a broad-shouldered, tall man with fair hair and grey eyes. My father is a computer programmer. He is a very experienced. He also knows all about new radio sets and likes to repair old ones. He is handy with many other things.
My mother is a teacher or biology. She works in a college. She is fond of her profession. She is a pretty woman with brown hair. She is tall and slim. My mother is 44 but she looks much younger. She has a brilliant sense of humor and it certainly adds up to her charm. My mother runs the house and takes care of us. She is very good at cooking and she is clever with her hands. She is very practical. My father, my brother and my try to help her with the homework.
My parents have been married for 26 years. They have much in common, but they have got different views on music, books, films, and sports. For, example my teacher likes trailers and my mother likes “soap operas”. My father is fond of tennis. My mother does not go in for sports. But they both are not couch potatoes! They like to visit big parties and communicate with their friends.
My mother and father came from large families. That’s why I have many close and distant relatives. My aunts, uncles and cousins live in different parts of Russia. My grandparents are pensioners. To my regret they live in the country quite far and I don’t see them very often. But on holidays my relatives come to our place. We are happy to be together and get on very well with each other.
I love my family very much. I am proud of it.
