Ukraine is one of the largest countries of Eastern Europe. The capital of Ukraine is Kyiv. It is an independent state and it has it`s own government. It has state borders with Russia, Belarus and Moldova. It also borders on Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. In the south it is washed by the Black and the Azov seas. The population of Ukraine is about 47 million people.

People who live in Ukraine are Ukrainians. They all speak Ukrainian, the official language of the country. The national currency in Ukraine is hryvnia.

In general the climate of Ukraine is moderately continental, being

Subtropical only on the southern coast of the Crimea.

The biggest cities are: Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and some others.
The beautiful capital of the Ukraine is situated on the famous Dnieper River. It is one of the oldest cities. Its history dates back to the sixth century.
