Доказать амфотерность не сложно. Достаточно привести пару реакций где оксид свинца (II) реагирует как с кислотами так и с основаниями (щелочами)

Реакция оксида свинца с щелочью не наглядна, но тем не менее. Оксид переходит из нерастворимого состояния в растворимый - реакция идет c образованием соли плюмбат калия. Кислота называется свинцовая H2PbO2, которая может быть выделена в свободном состоянии.

PbO + 2KOH =K2PbO2+ H2O

Реакция амфотерного оксида с кислотами может быть продемонстрирована на примере йодной кислоты (классическая сильная кислота) PbO + HI = PbI2 + H2O В данном случае выпадает осадок красивого желтого (янтарного) цвета.
