Hi! My name is James Transom. I’m eleven years old and I live with my parents and our funny cat called Sunny. I love my cat very much. But I’d like to tell you about my worst New Year in my life. My mother asked me to go to my grandparents with the presents she had prepared for them. My grandparents lived at the other end of our city and it usually took me about an hour to get to them. That’s why I de- cided to go there immediately in order to return home quickly. I took the bag with the presents and went to the bus station. There I took the right bus and sat at the window. The road was rather monotony and I fell asleep. Suddenly I woke up and saw that my bag with the presents had disappeared and I had to get off at the next bus stop. Of course, I got off and went to my grandparents. They were glad to see me even without any pre- sents. I explained that I had lost their presents. They didn’t punish me but I was very unhappy. They gave me a lot of presents for me and my parents and I went home. On my way home I was very attentive and careful in the bus. I didn’t sleep; I counted the trees and admired the decorated houses and streets. I got off at my bus stop and went home. Suddenly I slipped and fell down. When I got up I saw that my jeans were torn on my knees. It was awful! At last I came home. My parents asked me about my grandparents, how they liked our pre- sents. I told them everything. They were really upset but they didn’t scold me. It was a horrible day! “What a bad day!”-I thought. - “Why has it happened to me?”
